Leaving the beach
The nesting season attracts Sea Turtles and tourists alike to the beaches of
Ras Al Had.

Tourists and Sea Turtles go for the beaches

Once remote and inaccessible, Ras Al Had was a safe nesting ground for thousands of Green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) coming from the four corners of the Arabian Sea.

Today's boom of the tourism industry in Oman represents a great challenge for the authorities. They may want to attract as many tourists as possible, but at the same time must keep them at a safe distance from the wildlife they try to protect.
